I bought these covers, along with a new anti-allergy duvet and pillow for my little girl. Night after night she coughed and woke. Doctor visits every 3 weeks. We haven't looked back. I bought cheaper ones elsewhere for a holiday home we have and they weren't nearly as good. These are an excellent fit, don't sweat (I've slept in them myself) and are easy to get on and off the bed. I went through much of last year trying to discover what I was allergic to. It seemed fairly random and I ruled out hayfever and wheat allergies etc. When I noticed it tended to be worse in the morning with sneezing starting as soon as I woke up I thought about dust mites. I recently moved into a very dusty carpeted house which played havoc with my asthma. I bought this product as part of a 'tool kit' to improving my asthma. Its easy to put on and has improved my symtoms which has improved my quality of life. You will need to use this in conjuction with new anti allergy duvet, pillows, hepa filter and Allergy UK recommended vacuum cleaners. Bought this as my mattress needed freshening up to keep it looking good. I wanted something that would completley encased the mattress to protect it and that wouldnt "pop off". I also wanted something that looked good and was comfortable. This Protector ticked ALL the boxes, Beautifully soft, thick and luxurious looking. Fitted the mattress like a glove. Looked gorgeous on and was so comfy you want to forget about the sheet!!! Really happy with this prodect and it has the added bonus of protection against dust mites etc... what else could you want.

This is made of a great quality material, very easy to put on & take off for washing and doesn't slide about under your sheets as I have found with other mattress covers. My only moans are that the zip came off in my hand, but that could have been my fault and I was able to fix it and also I bought this as added support to encase my memory foam mattress but the fabric is very soft & stretchy so it doesn't offer much support but great protection. 2nd Jun, 2011

Bought this for my daughter who is 3. Diagosed with rhinitus - constantly coughing at night time. Changed her bedding 2 months ago and she hasn't coughed once! They are easy to wash, dry quickly, stretchy, don't sweat, don't make noise. I'm delighted with them. The delivery was brilliant too. I have been really pleased with the mattress protector. It came very promptly and well packaged. The protector is easy to put over a single mattress as it is quite large and stretchy so you are not trying to squeeze a matress into a tiny cover. I haven't yet washed it but I am assuming that it would dry quickly as it is quite thin.

This cover is very easy to fit, even on my heavy latex matress I managed on my own because of the three zipped sides. I have not taken it off for washing yet but I expect it to wash and dry well due to it's terry fabric.

This is the fourth of these I've purchased in the past few years for my son and they are really good; its nice to see the new style now has a zip which wraps across three edges of the protector rather than across one short edge only as it makes it much easier to put on. really can't reccommend Allersafe products highly enough, they do a brilliant job, far superior to other anti dust mite bedding. This is the only brand reccommended by my local children's hospital.

These products are excellent at doing what they are supposed to. My son has multiple allergies and Allersafe bedding products are far superior to other anti allergy bedding in spite of how good their claims might be, ultimately they arent made the same way so dont waste your money on cheaper versions- they just wont offer the amount of protection for as long! The Amicor product makes all the difference as it actually neutralises the proteins in dust mite poo which is where the allergen is. It also makes the human skin cells not as appealing for the dust mite so they have less food supply which slows the growth of the dust mite colonies- yes I know- horrible isnt it? The only downside to this mattress protector is that the stitching around the zips gave out long before the end of the product life (200 washes) which is a big disappointment- considering the cost. They are also difficult to put on-especially on king size bedding.

I have just bought a new memory foam mattress, will the encasement protector stop mites from getting into my new mattress and keep it mite free?

The Allersafe Stretch Terry Mattress Protector has been woven with a fibre called Amicor. Amicor provides an environment dustmites can not live in so they won’t live within the mattress protector itself.

Perhaps our Allerzip or Cotton Fresh products may be of interest to you. These products are classed as barrier products as they do not allow the dustmites to pass through its fabric.

Do you do a duvet protector version of this, I have found the pillow case covers, but not the duvet

Unfortunately we do not currently stock Allersafe duvet covers. We have found that most customers prefer to use their own decorative duvet cover with an Allersafe Duvet. They would then frequently wash the decorative duvet cover at 60◦C (if possible) to kill any dustmites.

We do however have stock available of the Cotton Fresh Duvet Encasement. This is a barrier product which has been designed to be used between your duvet and duvet cover.

Hi, I am rather confused, I understand that to effectively kill dust mites that bedding has to be washed at 60 degrees, however this says wash at 40 degrees?

The Allersafe Anti Allergy bedding, including the Stretch Terry Mattress Protector, has been blended with a fibre called Amicor Pure fibre that creates an environment where dust mites can not live.  The Allersafe Anti Allergy bedding can therefore be washed at 40oC. Normal bedding that doesn't contain anti allergy properties should be washed at 60oC in order to kill dust mites.

We have just ordered a new double bed with a mattress depth of 29cm. What size protector do you recommend? One reviewer finds the protector rather too stretchy and that extra material bunches up;your reply to a question about a wider than normal mattress advises buying the next size up.

We would suggest, as your mattress is deeper than a standard size mattress, that you opt for the next size up to avoiding putting too much strain on the zip of this encasing product. Extra material could tucked underneath your mattress.

An alternative, if it is not necessary to have an encasing product, would be to opt for the Allersafe Anti-Allergy Essential Quilted Mattress Protector or the Allersafe Anti-Allergy Premium Quilted Mattress Protector.  Opting for the next size up in either of these protectors would allow for your deeper mattress, the extra material could be tucked neatly underneath the mattress.

Is this mattress protector completely waterproof ?

The Allersafe Anti-Allergy Stretch Terry Mattress Protector is not a waterproof barrier.  The Healthy ZZZ MicronOne Mattress Encasement, which fully encases the mattress, is water resistant.  The MicronOne technology in this product completely blocks dust mites and other allergens escaping from your mattress.

Can I tumble dry this terry mattress protector

The Allersafe anti-allergy stretch terry mattress protector can indeed be tumble dried, as well as being machine washable at 40oC.

My super king mattress is quite deep (30cm) - do you think the protector will stretch to fit it?

The depth of the Mattress Protector is 20cm, but will stretch to fit a standard size mattress which is 23cm.  We would normally suggest you go for the next size up.

I get hot at night time - will this make me hotter? Also is it noisy to sleep on?

The Stretch Terry Mattress Protector is not noisy; It is composed of 50% cotton, 30% amicor fibre and 20% polyester. It is breathable and therefore shouldn't make you hotter.

My mattress is an unusual european size of 160cm wide. Will the 150cm stretch terry protector stretch sufficiently to encase a mattress this size? If it will, how will that effect it's anti allery protection? Thank you

Stretching the fabric should not alter the anti allergy properties. In the past customers with similar issues have bought the next size up to avoid putting any strain on the zip.
